DALIT is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization established in 1998 by a group of young DALIT people working for the development of the DALIT and other vulnerable and socially excluded groups so that they can meet their basic needs. DALIT promotes human dignity for the communities who are deprived from their fundamental basic rights declared in the constitution of Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh and Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In 1999 it got the recognition from the NGO Affairs Bureau and it started its programs in a more organic way. In 2010 it got the registration from the Ministry of Social Welfare.
